Established in 1977, Salem Tube became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Tubacex Group in 1995. Tubacex is one of the world’s largest producers of seamless stainless steel tubing.
Salem’s manufacturing plant sits on a 10-acre tract in Greenville’s Reynolds Industrial Development Park. In 2013, the company acquired an adjacent property for expansion. This expansion included a state-of-the-art laboratory and a new building in 2014. They went from operating in a 185,000 square foot facility to over 200,000 square feet of on-site space.
A True Survivor In The Industry
While many of their competitors have fallen by the wayside through the years, Salem Tube continues to prosper. 25 years ago, the company entered the Aerospace market. In 2009, they planted their feet firmly in the Nuclear seamless tubing market.
Plug drawing capabilities were added to the Greenville tube company’s facility in 2013. This has allowed them to expand their size range for aerospace plus other high-end applications.
That same year, the company achieved NORSOK Certification M650. Salem was North America’s first small diameter seamless tubing mill to be awarded this status by the Oil & Gas sector.
